This law is in place due to the efforts of Margaret O'Hora & colleagues who worked on the Council of DC Labor Committee, 2019-2022. As you can see by the numbers, this law helps working-class residents, not big-money C-suite executives. Proud to work with Margaret to put in place.

Kudos to Councilmember Matt Frumin for requesting data and analysis to make a tough decision. What I heard from his colleagues is that the data did not align with the industry’s narrative. Shouldn’t that make legislators ask what is really going on? Crazy-talk, I know!

Am I the only person who finds Zohran Kwame Mamdani a bit superficial? What is the appeal?

New from Washington Post Investigations: We wanted to understand why youth crime shot up so stunningly in D.C. in 2023. Today, we published a multi-part investigation into the city's failure to both prevent and address the epidemic. Each part threaded here. Thank you for reading! 1/x

If there were a real threat of Commanders going back to Maryland, this would be effective. But Josh Harris & Roger Goodell have made it clear they want to be at RFK. They are not moving to Ashburn either. So instead of playing hardball, compromising on timeline seems reasonable.

There is video. This is a complete fabrication. The only good thing about this is that it shows New Yorkers who is the most genuine, authentic fighter for working people and the rule of law. Please make Brad Lander your No. 1 choice for mayor.
