We were delighted to see so many of our liverymen and their guests at our recent April Dinner. We announced the dual retirement of our Clerk and Assistant Clerk. Two stalwarts of the company who will be greatly missed when they step down later in the year.

Continuing the Livery's successful programme of outreach and education, a team of Liverymen led by Past Master Martin Riley recently delivered The Business of Spirits course to a group from the Gin Guild.

Over 170 visiting guests packed Vintners’ Hall for the Distillers’ Annual Spirits Tasting event. Our thanks to Damian Riley-Smith and his team at Paragraph Publishing for organising a fantastic event, capped off with a raffle that raised over £2000 for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

The Master Distiller recently had the chance to join The Lord Mayor and three other livery Masters in recreating an ancient City of London ceremony on the River Thames. Fundraising for the RNLI the Master Distiller joined a flotilla that made their way to Staines-upon-Thames.

The Distillers gathered at Drapers’ Hall in support of Dagenham's Future Youth Zone. It was an inspiring evening - and wonderful to hear of the real effect being achieved to young people’s lives in Dagenham as a result of auction monies and Liverymen’s charitable contributions.

The Master attended the London Scottish Regiment’s annual Hallowe’en dinner with Liveryman Major Jamie Barklem. The Pipes and Drums were in fine fettle and we reaffirmed our important relationship.   As the London Scottish motto goes, STRIKE SURE!

The third Master’s Bar, Livery members and guests, took place at Soho Whisky Club on 4th November. We got to chat to our peers and sample some excellent liquid: Tobermory Ledaig, Raasay single malts, Masthouse, and Armorik Single Malt and more! Sláinte 🥃

On a November afternoon 153 Distillers and their guests came together in the warmth of Vintners’ Hall to witness the installation of the Company’s new Master, Nicholas Carr. The Master highlighted the Charity's excellent work and how he wanted to champion this in the year ahead.

We’re celebrating a successful year working with WSETglobal and The Drinks Trust providing bursaries to support students to study WSET courses. We helped 25 students with both financial assistance and professional development through our mentorship program.

Another successful trip to Heriot-Watt University to deliver the livery’s Business of Spirits course to students studying at the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling – a day of knowledge exchange and education covering the business side of the drinks industry.

Introducing our @wsetglobal Trustee – Georgie Bell, co-founder of @theheartcut. A part of the livery since 2017, she is dedicated to furthering drinks education and now helps guide the WSET and our work with them.
