For her birthday, Kaylee wants a bedroom makeover. She was 2 when we moved here, and it's been the same so its time. New bedding, curtains, art, desk. She wants each wall a different color with polka dots of the other colors. Wish me luck...

Teachers at a gifted school are being told they can not have any reading materials in their classroom libraries that are above grade level. This is a site based decision, not the state ruling. This is not serving the needs of gifted learners. #stopbanningbooks

5th and 7th!

Eating lunch is a right for students, not a "privilege to use the cafeteria because its mine and I'm the principal". How about instead "Let's work together or let keep each accountable" instead of threatening language.

4 days in a row of no a/c in my daughters class. Her teacher is doing everything she can to keep them comfortable, but it's still hot. K has been coming home with heachaches, yet if I keep her home, I get a nasty gram mailed to me. Make it make sense. It's a new building too.

First week of Kindergarten was a success!

The sunflowers in our school garden were ready to be picked, so we had an impromptu lesson about sunflowers and how they follow the sun. The students got some fine motor skill practice too and took home seeds to plant!

First full week of Kindergarten. We are settling in to the routines and learning a thing or two along the way
