⚠️M40 closed⚠️

The M40 is closed in southbound between junction 9 for Wendlebury and junction 8 for Wheatley whilst we attend an incident.

We would advise motorists to avoid the area at this time and find alternative routes.

Emergency services are currently dealing with a jacknifed lorry on the M40, southbound carriageway between junction 9 and 8a. Two lanes are closed and long delays are expected. There are no reported injuries but the clean up will take a long time. Thank you for your patience

Vehicle stopped on M40 at Junction 11 this evening following reports that vehicle may contain a wanted person. Person not present in vehicle but the driver failed a roadside drug wipe for Cannabis and was arrested. #fatalfour #Oxoncshift #P4245

Last week Roads Policing officers utilised an unmarked HGV provided by #nationalhighways to spot road traffic offences as part of #OpTramline on the M40 Oxon & Bucks and on the M25 Bucks. 90 offences were dealt with by officers...40 of which were drivers using a mobile phone!

A man has been jailed for 2 years and 9 months and disqualified from driving for over 6 years.

Jamie Banning, aged 30, from Reading, struck a cyclist on Basingstoke Road at high speed in November 2023.
