#ICE2024 was a great success - very well organized, lively crowds and lots and lots of fantastic insect buzz all around Kyoto! I was very happy to speak to all of you, and I'm sorry I didn't manage to speak to many of you longer. Hope to speak to you again soon, until then!🐞 🍄

Nara, very quiet because of the typhoon yesterday evening - but gorgeous skies and enthusiastic deer. 🦌 🎐

In Kyoto, there's a jazz bar called Birdland run by a 79-year old bartender and his son. He's been doing this since he was 19, and the bar has existed since 1976. A woman came in with her kids and grandkids- turns out she's been a regular for more than 40 years! 🎶 🍸

#ICE2024 might be over, but the bugs are not. (Kyoto and Izu)

Izu, Shizuoka Very different climate here, heavily forested and nestled in the mountains at the confluence of two rivers. It's beautiful, but also slightly spooky. You can imagine the yokai here.
