P1 & 2 chose to work on a word game together this afternoon and had a great time judging by all the laughter! They were very proud to show off their achievements to the rest of the class. Requested as the first task in the morning as they loved it so much!

Lots of researching, writing and drawing after the Crittur Keeper's visit. Next steps: today we learnt the animals names in French - one of the things P1-7 asked to learn this term.

When P1-7 were asked what they wanted to learn about this term one of the requests was "dinosaurs". This tuff tray was set up by a P1 pupil! How cool is this. We can't wait to see it evolve over the coming week. #playbasedlearning

P1 were consolidating their knowledge of "ck" words today. They love puzzles so were very focused on this task. Next steps - they want a timer to see how quickly they can complete the task tomorrow!

At Tullynessle we believe that learning is not just about using textbooks, worksheets and ipads. It's about getting amazing hands on experiences too. Thanks to Joyful Ponies for bringing some special ponies & pygmy goats to visit us. We learned how to brush, walk and feed them!

We are not only artists at Tullynessle but we are writers and creators too! We love this new way of displaying our creative writing all about ourselves.

P1 practise their fine motor skills daily. Today we created rainbows using the coloured peg boards, and helped to build up our finger muscles in the process!

We picked the hottest day of the week to go skiing & tubing! Teamwork, listening & gross motor skills, fitness, HWB but best of all we had fun learning outside ... and we persuaded Mrs S to come tubing! Thanks to our instructors at Alford Ski Centre for a great time.

We were all fast asleep and missed seeing the Aurora last week so we requested an art session using oil pastels and black paper to recreate the amazing displays of the Northern Lights. We watched real time footage and looked at photos for inspiration.

An excellent day of learning at Duthie Park on Fri. Nobel Prize for development of insulin awarded in 1923, tropical rainforest and cactus facts, raincycle experiments and counting terrapins! Taking the classroom out and about! #educationaldaytrip

We were delighted to have a visit today from Rosey Walker, Deputy Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire, who talked to us about King Charles and what his role as King involves. We found out lots of interesting facts. She also presented our P7 pupils with their Leavers hoodies.

Our last ever Tullynessle Nursery Graduation🎓 Thank you to everyone who came to join us. We are so proud of all our little pupils and wish them all the best in their new schools as P1 pupils. Thank you to the staff for organising a great afternoon too. 👏

Final Tullynessle trip of the session was a request from the pupils to go tubing and visit the Alford Transport Museum to find out more about how transport has changed over the years. An amazing place if you have never been! #local #transport

What a final week! Thank you so much to Artie for entertaining us on Tues. As usual, the adults were singing louder than the kids!! Who remembers "Spout, handle, lid of metal. What's inside the Singing Kettle?" Great to sing traditional songs again. 👏
