I literally said this 3 years ago. 3 years ago = March 2022. And it has already happened - though in fairness, the sales situationin China is unrelated to Western brand concerns. But media/analysts and others are coming to this realization now? Lol

It took Donald Trump under 2 months to kill the US stock market, the US economy, US-CAN relations, US-Mexico relations, US-EU relations, US-China relations. What am I missing? Lol 4 more years!

The sales will speak for themselves, one way or the other. First step is convincing Republicans that EVs aren't just for tree-hugging hippy liberals. It's a big first step.

The article makes it sound like the cheaper Y and 3 will have no significant changes in battery, range etc. So will they just make the interior materials cheaper, like the fabric 3 launched in Mexico? This doesn't make a lot of sense. cnevpost.com/2025/03/13/tes…

Stripped down 3 and Y isn't what Tesla needs imo. This will just result in cannibalisation of higher-priced trims and less profit with only marginal increases in volume. The cheapest 3s and Ys are already incredible value - if only people knew.

The good news is it sounds like there is a Compact crossover coming that is not a Model Y. The bad news is if it only launches in 2026, it will be tough for Tesla to grow in 2025.
