My article for the The Guardian today on why a new oilfield that could potentially produce 500 million barrels of oil cannot be compatible with the UK’s ambitions to be a global leader in clean energy and deliver net zero by 2050 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Every time Climate Change Committee produce another report the economics of inaction get starker. The benefits of action get clearer and the persistent weak ambition of the government are starker. Working in business, to drive positive change, ongoing limted action is deeply frustrating
Enjoying the level of Conservatives led backlash against tonight's policy u-turns on #climate. This is encouraging to see that across most of the political spectrum there is a real recognition that clear net zero policies are good for the economy and for our future
I wonder if EUA members including Bosch UK British Gas Cadent Danfoss Group Schneider Electric Vaillant UK think they are getting good value for their fees, given the relevant govt minister thinks EUA head Mike Foster is "deranged"? Great lobbying tactics, 10/10!
