This law passed in July 2022, but is a good reminder as to what is needed to operate your ATV/UTV on Iowa roadways! Pay close attention to the SMV sign (slow moving vehicle) that must be attached to the back of your ride just like the tractors and AG equipment. Be seen and safe

Stay informed... Here is a helpful flyer that lists what is required to legally ride your UTV/ATV on Iowa roadways...... take a look and make sure you have everything in order! The SMV is the newest portion of the law that many of us missed. A full size SMV triangle is required

It's coming now in less than a month......Iowa's HANDS FREE LAW... just as it sounds....no phones in your hands while driving...... below are some pointers that may change the way you drive.... because after January 1, 2026 - this violation will cost you over $100 fine.

Did you know that 75% of people ejected in crashes DIE due to their injuries? Did you know that BUCKLING UP increases your chance of survival by 45% if involved in a crash? YES, it's that important! Please do what's right and wear your seatbelt every trip, every time! BE SAFE

It's been the law since 2002, don't have a complete lack of caring for those parked or stopped along our roadways! PLEASE slow down and move over if possible for anyone that may be broke down or stopped, BE COURTEOUS and kind. Save yourself a $210 fine! Next week it's a focus!

🚨 Special Enforcement Day 🚨 Monday June 16th the Iowa State Patrol will have extra efforts along HWY 6 from Oakland to Council Bluffs to help improve the safety along this stretch of highway in western Iowa. Your good driving behaviors will help us keep this roadway safe!

When I was learning to drive this was just common Courtesy but since 2002 this has been Iowa Law 321.323A. Starting tomorrow June 17- June 19th will be a statewide Slow Down or Move Over project placing extra enforcement effort to spread awareness about this law.. $210 fine

Project MOVE OVER…… Council Bluffs Area. You MUST move over lanes away or if unsafe to do that you MUST slow down when going by a vehicles on the shoulder with flashing lights! Tow trucks, workers, law enforcement or anyone with flashers on!! Be courteous and just MOVE OVER!

😡Praying for our neighbor NSP to the west as she was struck along I-80 yesterday Just last week Iowa participated in a MOVE OVER project over 3 days. Along I-29 and I-80 troopers and local law enforcement witnessed and addressed over 50 fail to MOVE OVER violations in 2 days!

Today's the day! If you get one of these cards in hand over the next 6 months........it's just the Iowa State Patrol trying to educate you and save lives in the process. You must put your phone down, out of hand and allowed to "one touch" if needed. Keep everyone safe on our roads
