We often hear from people about how they rescued an animal from a cat, but released them back outside because the victim "looked fine". Cat-attacked animals should be seen by wildlife or veterinary professional as soon as possible, regardless of whether injuries are visible.

In wildlife rehabilitation, there are many things we can't control, especially when it comes to babies - how long an animal’s been orphaned, the weather, natural predation, & more. However, there's one thing we CAN control - what we as humans do when we find these babies.🧵

Let’s start the day with some good news, of the peep variety! We released this semipalmated sandpiper after 16 days recovering from injuries sustained during a window collision at JFK. This bird made an incredible turnaround… 🎥: Tristan Higginbotham
