Well, I've got some news! Last night, Investigative Project on Race and Equity won two awards for our story looking into the struggles many Black seniors face to receive home improvement loans. It’s the first story I've worked on to be nominated and win at the Lisagors, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Where did the dust storm come from? Thunderstorms in central Illinois produced a big push of wind (60 to 70 mph) that surged northward into our area. As the winds moved over dry farmlands, it collected and suspended dust into the air. We were at the receiving end of that dust.

If I had a staff, the first new feature I would implement for coverage of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial is “the report v. the reality,” which would pair social media musings about alleged testimony next to the actual court reporter’s transcript of the verbatim testimony.
