Honored to receive the ICRS World Reef Award International Coral Reef Society! It means a lot to be acknowledged where representation is limited. Indonesia has the world's most diverse coral organisms, yet reef science/conservation often go unrecognized. I'm committed to changing this narrative!

This is just out today! Rehabilitating reefs in the Anthropocene. A primer on the curent state of reef restoration science and practice. Led by Alasdair Edwards, with me and Adriana Humanes sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Sciences at Newcastle Ecology Group, Newcastle University

My second PhD paper has been published! doi.org/10.1016/j.ecol……! Using the entirety of the reef survey datasets from Reef Ecology Lab collected by the various members across 35 years, we found that taxo and phylo diversity can increase while functional (trait-based) metrics decline.

We are excited about our #SPP2299 DFG public | @[email protected] meeting on "Tropical coral records of climate change and environmental stress" which is about to start in Bremen. Invited speakers include @marenfaren Ocean Ecol Lab (@oceanecol.bsky.social) Tries Blandine Razak @theFosterlab Dr. Diane Thompson Juan Pablo D'Olivo and many more

Our #SPP2299 DFG public | @[email protected] meeting on "Tropical coral records of climate change and environmental stress" this week in Bremen is now over. Thanks to everyone for exciting days full of talks and discussions about tropical climate variability and coral reefs

Researchers are using cutting-edge technology to create huge digital 3D models of coral reefs to help research and revive them. Rinn, Tries Blandine Razak and Tim Lamont explain their methods in the Conversation Lancaster Environment Centre LEC Reefs theconversation.com/our-digital-3d…

📸 Imagine capturing 10,000+ underwater images in 30 minutes! #PewMarineFellow Tries Blandine Razak is doing just that. Using advanced photogrammetry, Razak creates 3D models of coral reefs, helping scientists better protect these vital ecosystems. pew.org/3YjH17S

Fascinating work of Ardiantiono et al. (2024), showing how local-language publications in Indonesia can illuminate long-term biodiversity trends. Local data, often overlooked, are essential to capture the full picture of regional ecosystem changes & conservation needs 🌏🦧
