TRAPUM Survey Goals With the power of MeerKAT, TRAPUM will discover numerous new pulsars and transient events. In doing so, we will expand our knowledge of populations of sources emitting at radio wavelengths on time scales from microseconds to seconds.

Did you know? 🤔 The original name of the telescope we use was KAT, which is short for "Karoo Array Telescope." Many more antennas were built over time. Therefore, the telescope got a new name, which means "more of KAT": MeerKAT. 💡 #radioastronomy #meerkat

Did you know? 🤔 #Pulsars can spin up to 716 times per second. This is 1,5 times faster than a regular kitchenblender.

Meet the Team: Prajwal Padmanabh, Junior #Scientist/ #Postdoc in #Pulsars Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for #Gravitational #Physics (Albert Einstein Institute), Hannover. He did his PhD at the MPIfR, Bonn, searching for Pulsars, and now he is a postdoc researcher.
