I had some documents handed in yesterday. An Indian passport and a Residents Card, plus some paperwork. The chap was allowed to work. No recourse to public funds. He was a 'dependent', so I guess a husband. But while allowed to work he could not be a "Sportsman". What? Why?

I've ordered 20Kg of 1mm>4mm horticultural grit. (£15) I've ordered 100L of Perlite. (£23) Tomorrow, I'm buying a boot-load of compost. (£10 ish) And I'm starting to grow about 10,000_ daffodil seeds I collected in the Spring. Along with a few hundred Snakeshead seeds too.

Thanks to a friendly neighbour who raised the alarm, our resident female swan was rescued yesterday by the heroic Harry and Dan. She had been missing for 48 hours and her mate was looking dejected, so we looked everywhere for her round our lake - no sign. Then out of the blue -

I forgot to mention. My 100 Snowdrop bulbs (Galanthus Elwesii) arrived today. From Boston Bulbs. Planting tomorrow. As did 20Kg of potting grit. And 100L of Perlite for Daffodil seeds. Just have to get the right potting compost on the way home tomorrow.
