The UK invests over £18bn into Italy making us their largest non-EU investor. I had a positive meeting with Valentino Valentini Italy’s Deputy Minister of Enterprises on how we could ease investment flows further such as the mutual recognition of qualifications. 🇮🇹🇬🇧

A positive meeting with Banca d'Italia. Through the Anglo-Italian financial dialogue, City of London is actively supporting greater collaboration between the UK and Italy in financial services, particularly on tech and sustainability. 🇮🇹🇬🇧

Great to meet the President of Liguria Giovanni Toti and Marco Bucci Sindaco, Mayor of Genoa. The ties between our two great port cities are long and enduring, starting with the sharing of the St George’s flag and our ports both handle over 52 million tonnes of cargo annually.🇮🇹🇬🇧

At a Genoa conference we explored collaborative solutions in insurance to navigate the current geopolitical tensions. With 90% of all shipping insurance taking place in London, we are uniquely placed to help address this. 🇮🇹🇬🇧

The UK and EU remain each other’s largest trading partners. I discussed with AMF Assosim where we can deepen our partnership in financial and provisional services post-Brexit, in areas like mutual recognition, increased market access and regulatory cooperation. 🇮🇹🇬🇧
