Unusual to still be able to see Waxwings in April but the flock at the rear of the Waitrose store in Saxmundham were a real delight today.

Having missed all the waxwing activity earlier in the year, I couldnโ€™t resist the opportunity to go to Saxmundham this afternoon and catch up with them at the rear of the Waitrose store. It was well worth the effort as they came down to feed on berries just a few feet away.

After spending a lovely day around Southwold with my sister visiting from Corby I managed to find time to see the Surf Scoter at Walberswick and the male Ring Ouzel on vault hill, Minsmere. A great finish to a great day.

Despite the difficult conditions another good visit to RSPB Minsmere ๐ŸŒ with Geoff & Kim produced good views of Nightingales, Wheatear, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat and this delightful Treecreeper. Nice to bump into several local birders today.

Very windy conditions around RSPB Minsmere ๐ŸŒ today but still some decent birds on show including the drake Eider Duck which dropped into the east scrape for a while.

Another pleasant day around RSPB Minsmere ๐ŸŒ although difficult conditions at times resulted in migrants being few and far between. The large group of Siskins using the feeders at the visitor centre were a bit of a surprise.
