Freeing Me From OCD I mostly experience mental compulsions, lots of rumination - A big one I have been giving myself permission to lean into is the idea that if I am feeling a sense of urgency and immediacy attached to a worry or doubt, it is not the time to try and figure anything out or "solve" it

Life has been very overwhelming recently and seeing a lot of folks talking about similar. Sometimes it feels like we’re all in the same ebbs and flows. (The astrology girlies have entered the chat. 😜) Hoping that calmer tides lie ahead for me and for all y’all.

OCD is so insidious because it can masquerade as being perfectly rational. ‘Why wouldn’t you go without a fridge freezer, if it meant saving yourself & your neighbours from dying in a fire? Seems a very small price to pay.’

@Neurodisordered Sam Dobbie Stress always makes my OCD so much more potent. I would personally say I try not to avoid/run away from the stress as that doesn't help me in the long run. I try to sit with the discomfort (and it can be torture at times). Self care needs to be at its maximum during this time.

My mom has to have surgery for a kidney stone. Very scared and trying hard to let it be here without letting the OCD take me way down the catastrophic rabbit hole. I can’t control what happens. I’m doing what I can do and what I need to do. I hate waiting in uncertainty.

Happy OCD Awareness month 2024. This month, we take the time to advocate for ourselves and others in the community, and come together as one.

Twitter is not a safe place for my mind right now. My friends here supporting each other through OCD, I still see you. I hope you’re able to take care of yourselves. If there’s other places you gather or if you want my email, let me know. My DMs are open to you. Be well.
