Unless we get a duel winning midfielder, or we get a CB who we can reliably use in midfield without worrying about them being injured, we are going to seriously suffer with transitions next year.
Inzaghi is a genius madman by the way. Renan Lodi LCB, Ruben Neves CCB, Malcom running in behind supplied by Cancelo and that strong athletic pairing of Kanno and SMS in the middle… City really bit the dust on those nasty transitions.
People who say “Sesko should push for Arsenal” don’t realise that:
-He’s on a new contract that Arsenal probably won’t offer much more than.
-Bundesliga is comfy league to develop in.
-He will always have big clubs interested in him.
+Leipzig are always open to selling.
Ingenious tactics from Maresca. Crowding and forcing the PSG players to the outside which leaves spaces inside the Chelsea midfield but PSG have no midfield carriers to exploit it. From there it’s just classic counter by 2 passers, 2 carriers and 1 runner.
These youth signings make me worried about the charges… are we planning to survive any transfer ban with all these youth signings? I’ve never seen a club be so active in youth signings like this before.
I agree, but multiple reports have said Artetas had good phone calls with Gyokeres + wanted a swift conclusion to the deal. This kind of suggests to me that Arteta may genuinely want Gyokeres.
Arsenal are trying to play transitions + expansive football to make the most out of Gyokeres but it’s in turn minimising Saka (their best attacker) and Odegaard and allowing United’s top transition attackers to do damage. Havertz on + forcing United into a lowblock is the play.
