After a wildfire, the risk of flash floods and debris flows is high, especially during heavy rain. If you're in a fire-affected area, stay alert, avoid flood-prone zones, and be prepared to evacuate. Your safety is the top priority! #PNW #FlashFloodSafety #WildfireRecovery

A PDS Red Flag Warning is in effect Wednesday from 11 AM to 8 PM for the Sierra Front including the #DavisFire. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. Gusty winds & dry conditions will lead to very rapid fire growth. #nvwx

A friendly reminder that the NAM Nest (NAM 3km) does *not* turn off latent heat fluxes when the lowest model level has RH values ≥ 95%. This can result in unrealistically strong tropical cyclones (e.g., 865-mb TC Barry in 2019). Don't use the NAM Nest for TC intensity! #Francine

East Bay in the far NE corner of Tampa Bay had an anti-storm surge of 5 feet. Imagine 5 feet of water being blown out instead of in!!!
