During planning this morning, the second grade PLC built anchor charts together that will support students in answering questions about different schools around the world and the challenges they face in their communities.

Our SHOUT OUT board continues to grow. We set a goal of 1,000 positive phone calls by the end of the first quarter! A BUNCH of our staff doing their part to make it happen!

Early Release Tomorrow at 12:30pm. Our dismissal process is the same except for it being three hours early! Thank you!

Parents/Guardians, if interested in enrolling in our evening ESL classes please communicate with Ms. Weber. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Classes begin October 15th and run through December 10th.

Yesterday during kindergarten planning, Ms. DeRossett modeled a read aloud using the text Have Fun Molly Lou Lemon. Let me tell ya, Ms. DeRossett had the entire PLC wanting her to finish the book! She was AMAZING!

Ms. Hang, Ms. DeRossett, and Ms. Bolyard modeled Quiz Quiz Pass which students & the K team will use next week. A creative game to allow s’s to have academic discourse & build their communication skills. K s’s will be having A LOT of fun next week with their learning I’m sure!

Yesterday was National Custodian Appreciation Day! Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day to the BEST of the BEST—Afi, Jean, Kossi, and Darryl! You work SO hard to make sure our building is SPOTLESS! We’re so thankful for all you do!

Join us this Thursday evening from 5:00pm-6:3pm for our Fall Curriculum Night! We’ll have specific sessions, games, and food!

Kindergarten was DIALED in today during their math planning! Ms. Bolyard modeled several strategies and games being used in their classes the next week or so! For Math bingo-students have a bingo board posted on the Classkick app on their iPads! Keep it up!

SOAR (Students Owning Actions & Results) is our school-wide behavior plan. In order for kids to own it, teachers and staff MUST buy-in and own it themselves. Friday we celebrated our SOAR Staff of the month. Ms. DeRossett, Ms. Becker, Ms. Brown, and Ms. Burns!

Kindergarten was at it again today as they talked about fine motor development influencing overall literacy development and Ms. Rush and Ms. Bolyard modeled the game Pass the Plate with clothespins with letters and sight words! Keep turning that dial!

Our Student Services Team presents Winding Springs’ Bully Prevention Week! Students are able to participate in the spirit week activities in support of Bully Prevention. Starts this Monday, October 21st!

These folks just keep turning the dial—MAXIMUM VOLUME! During planning Mr. Russell, Ms. Laguerre, Ms. Burns, and Mr. Stumpff modeled their teaching, discussed misconceptions, and worked through student activities in Math and ELA. SUPER collaborative and excellent work!

Look at all those SOAR (Students Owning Actions & Results) tickets Mr. Stolz is collecting! Over 500 students have already completed their first SOAR chart and will be participating in our first quarter SOAR celebration!
