Thank you, Sammy! If you're still in line, stay in line; if you're close to a line, get in the line! Together, we'll prove that a better city is possible—that we can have liberation for all of us.

We're celebrating this incredible day. Thank you all for driving our movement to where it is—let's finish strong. Oh, and stay tuned for more post-election content tomorrow! ✊🏾

1/ Although we won’t know the official results until next month, we’re humbled by the number of our neighbors who came out & voted for our vision for District 35. No matter what the outcome is, we’ve proven that billionaires & the political establishment can’t stop our movement.

To all the volunteers, staff members, and supporters who have led our movement this far, I want you to know that, in some ways, we've already won—thank you. A better city is possible:

.DSA electoral campaigns are about base-building and advancing socialist goals. On last night’s show, we celebrated DSAForTheCity’s hours spent knocking doors. How do this week’s electoral results fit into the larger vision of our movement? revolutionsperminute.simplecast.com/episodes/for-t…

There's so much work left to be done in NYC, and regardless of this election's outcome, I'm so excited to see where our movement will end up. We've built the infrastructure for future victories, and we're going to build a world where everyone can prosper. I can't wait!

Our campaign was a labor of love and grit by a broad coalition of working-class folks who were committed to building a better city for all New Yorkers. While we await the final results, I'm so proud to share with you what our movement has already accomplished—thank you! ✊🏾🌹

Stay safe everyone. In this heat wave, parts of NYC have experienced blackouts or brownouts. Con Ed is also reducing voltage to select parts of the city to preserve the grid. We need to nationalize all energy infrastructure and transition to 100% renewable energy. #PublicPower

A year ago, I sat in the BOE “cage” in sunset park, helping multiple campaigns count absentee ballots, furious at how frustrating this process was, also around the time when our council passed a totally unjust budget. This year is no different. We got to break from this cycle.

Two of the biggest climate change bills for public power across New York State were introduced last session, and still the suggestion was to turn off your own individual air conditioner.

I have some really exciting news to share: WE WON! 🎉 While the Board of Elections is still finishing its final tabulations, our campaign has crossed the 50 percent threshold for victory. This is such a meaningful day for the movement we’ve been building. [THREAD 🧵]

Resources don't define a person's worth: regardless of your zip code, wealth, job, etc. we all deserve to live in dignity. Everyone is inherently valuable, and everyone is intrinsically worthy of our care—these principles guide our movement and will guide me in office.

It's 2022 and COVID-19 continues to expose the litany of inequities present in America. How do we help resolve it here in NY? Well, we can start with desegregated public education, universal healthcare, decommodified basic utilities, and guaranteed internet for all.
