Everyone loves Pronto Pups! The Peterson family brought the famous Pronto Pup to the Western Idaho Fair back in 1943. Ever since then, the Pronto Pup has made an appearance at the Fair every year for 79 years! #ThrowbackThursday

The Crop of the Year was created to highlight crops that are important to Idaho's agricultural landscape and to the Western Idaho Fair. This year the Crop of the Year is honey! Bees are responsible for approximately 80% of all fruit, vegetable, and seed crop in the US.

In 1977 the Ice Cream Potato was invented by Chef Lou Aaron, and it was served across the country. The treat was served throughout Colorado, Georgia, Texas, California. About 13 years later the Ice Cream Potato landed here in Idaho! #ThrowbackThursday

ACSO deputies are investigating a fight in the Western Idaho Fair parking lot earlier tonight that resulted in one person being stabbed and another person suffering what appears to be a accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound

That altercation happened about 9:45 p.m. in the western parking lot. Deputies quickly closed the parking lot and fair gates as people were running away from the fight

As deputies were looking for suspects and trying to figure out what was going on and keeping fair goers safe, people were not able to leave the parking lot or the fair and that caused a lot of confusion and concern

Depties have located some but not all the people who were involved in the fight. The two people who are injured are being treated right now. The parking lot and fair gates have been reopened and there does not appear there is any active public safety threat at this time

We know it was confusing and perhaps frightening for people at the fair tonight. Deputies acted quickly to figure out what was going on and keep people safe, which was why the parking lots and gates were closed
