Well done to Rick, who spotted our first sand martins today at St Nick's Park. Up to 82 for the Warwick 100 now, with hopefully some more being added soon 👍

Brilliant! A showy wheatear at the racecourse today, taking advantage of our new skylark fencing to pose on! Thanks to Chris Hill for taking us to 83 on the Warwick 100 list 😊

What a morning! Garden warbler, yellow wagtail and LRP added to the Warwick 100 list, along with our first ever godwit!! We are all veering towards bar tailed but happy to take any advice. List now up to 87 😁

Another two added to the Warwick 100 list this morning, with a whitethroat at the Saxon Mill and a pair of mandarin duck at Avon Wood. Also yellow wagtail on the flood over the river from Avon Wood. Outside of our area but nice to see. List now at 89 😊

Number 90 sang its way onto the list this morning, thanks to @SJV1957 finding a reed warbler at the racecourse. Only ten away from target now. We hit on the 20th April last year, but with a slow spring until now, I'm not sure if we'll do it this year, but you never know! 😊

Up to 93 on the Warwick 100 list now; with a sedge warbler and common sandpiper seen at Avon Wood, thanks to Glyn. I was treated to a lovely holly blue butterfly while in my garden this morning, too 🩵

Our bar tailed godwit was back on Flash Bennet this morning, along with a yellow wagtail. Chris Hill spotted two house martins over Warwick, giving us number 96 for the Warwick 100 list. Great also to see the whitethroats back and in full song. 😁

And 99 is bagged with red legged partridge at the racecourse. This one's been a long time coming, should have had it way earlier in the year. One more to go, what will it be? 😊

And there it is - bird number 100! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Well done to Chris Hill for finding it - a lovely male whinchat at the racecourse. Now we can organise our annual drinks... 🍾🍻🤣

A good walk this morning produced two more ticks for the 100 list today. Our regular visiting oystercatchers are back at the golf course, along with two pairs of tufted duck. Warwick 100 list now stands at 105 😊

Some of the Warwick 100 team had a skylark monitoring training session this am. Our heads are now filled with maps and codes, we hope we can help BTO with their ground nesting bird studies at the racecourse. (Also hoping my mapping is more impressive than my photography 🤣)

Warwick 100 team now up to 106 for the year. There's a pair of shelduck on the flash at Avon Wood for a while now, but just outside of the 100 area. This morning one was seen flying downstream, so could finally be ticked! This one kindly stayed on the flash for a pic. 😊

We've just heard that a cuckoo was calling at Old Milverton on the 25th May. Bird number 107 on the Warwick 100 list and that beats last year's total for the whole year! #warwick100

Bird number 108 hawked its way onto the Warwick 100 list today. A gorgeous hobby, showing off its acrobatic skills, right at the bottom of my garden. Fantastic! 😁

A lovely evening spent with some of the Warwick 100 team, celebrating hitting our 100 target. A lovely kingfisher flyby, bouncing mayflies, an acrobatic grey wagtail, a hunting juvenile pike and a couple of gatecrashing peregrines topped it off!

A brilliant first for the Warwick 100 today! A male marsh harrier was seen circling over the display ground at Warwick castle, by Stuart the falconer. That's our 109th bird on the 2025 list - and what a corker! 😁😁

Autumn has begun! Spotted flycatcher at the Warwickshire golf course today, bagged by David. This is our first for two years and takes us to 110 for the year so far. Great work! 😁

Okay, so the Warwick 100 has finally moved over to Bluesky! All of our sightings will be recorded on there from now on (so long as I can work out how to use it when we actually see some birds!) Feel free to follow, this is our new profile pic... 😊🩵😊 bsky.app/profile/warwic…
