Thinking of taking a step back from matches this weekend. The good thing is I'm well ahead of where I thought I'd be at this stage of the season so, with some new opportunities to think about, I may just need to take a little time to work out in my head where we go next. 🙂

Mortimer scored on the break to make it 2-1, the hosts then were awarded a pen, saved but had to be retaken, over the bar. The visitors levelled late on & won on pens. With very wet weather forecast for tomorrow, I'm edging away from the planned trip to Oxford with its two buses and two trains each way (more if I were to attempt the double header). It's now looking likely I'll be at the Racecourse for a #FAVase & #WFACup double header. 👍

Feeling like it may be a drowned rat kind of day but heading to the Racecourse for the #FAVase tie between Berks County FC Official ⚔️ & Brislington FC. Possibly make it a double header with the Ascot United Women & Girls FC #WFACup tie kicking off at 4.30pm but we'll see! My Road to Wembley #grassroots 🌧️☔⛈️

Delayed kick off here with the visitors late arriving. Now scheduled for a 12.15pm start.

F-T Berks County FC Official ⚔️ 3 Brislington FC 0 The visitors were reduced to 10 after 57 mins with Joel Smith picking up his second yellow. A two goal salvo in 2 minutes with a second for Connor Suckling & a tap in for George Armstrong in the 82nd & 84th minutes confirming the win.

So yesterday I went to Step 7 for Stockbridge FC v Locks Heath Football Club - and I had a great time and met some nice people. And saw a great goal. Also comments on the sad demise elsewhere.... HT Ascot United Women & Girls FC 2 Denham United Ladies FC 0 A tight affair end to end affair but with few clear chances until the 37th minute when Glover beat the offside trap to score. Two minutes later Lloyd got Ascot's second from close range following good work from Littlechild. #WFACup

Some mad scorelines in the #WFACup again today with plenty in double figures. I guess this continues to highlight the huge gaps there are between the tiers.

Next weekend it's back to league action and on Saturday I'll be visiting a new team albeit in a familiar ground for me with a trip to Addlestone Moor to see Staines & Lammas (Middx) FC v Windsor & Eton FC. Still undecided on the Sunday game at the moment. 🙂 #NonLeague #grassroots
