🏰 The Medvedgrad fort, located on the southern part of Medvednica, is visible from almost every part of Zagreb and its surroundings. 🏗 It was built in 1254, after the catastrophic attack of the Tatars, which destroyed and burned the historic Zagreb. #VisitMedvedgrad

With more than seven kilometers of branched channels, Veternica is the sixth largest cave in Croatia. 🦇 18 species of bats have been found in the cave. During the winter the cave is not open for visits so that no one interferes with their winter sleep.💤 #Medvednica #Veternica

▪ Zrinski mine is located near the Grafičar Mountain Lodge. After galenite was found in the area in the 16th century, mining began and miners worked 10 to 12 hours a day - using hammers, pegs, picks, and shovels. ⛏👷♂️🔨 #Medvednica #ParkprirodeMedvednica #RudnikZrinski

🏰 Medvedgrad was abandoned in 1590 after a terrible earthquake destroyed the fort. After that, he was visited only by adventurers and treasure hunters, searching for hidden treasure somewhere under the city by the famous Black Queen.👑
