A tablefull of researcher emotions. All shared as part of the brilliant session delivered by Hazel Marzetti for our SHI Foundation funded workshop yesterday. I identified with so many but especially awkwardness, joy, compassion, surprise & guilt.
If you made a blackout poem at our SHI Foundation Beyond Positionality workshop yesterday and you are happy to share, we would love to read them. Feel free to share here or DM me. This is mine taken from a rather dry methods section in a recent paper.
Congratulations Lauren Bridgstock It was a pleasure to read your thesis and lovely to be able to have such a good chat about it.
It's just two weeks until the opening of our Frailty&Ethnicity study exhibition. There will be 50+ photos, all taken by older people living in Leicester. Every photo tells a different story. If you find yourself in Leicester between 1st-8th August come and take a look.
I've just carried these participant quotes back from the print room like a box of treasure. So looking forward to our Frailty&Ethnicity study exhibition!
The walls are up & the Frailty&Ethnicity study exhibition is taking shape. We've been here 4.5hrs so far and a lot of work to go but hopefully it will be worth it for the opening tomorrow. If you are in Leicester tomoz come to The Haymarket shopping centre. 11.30 start, free lunch
Check out Victoria Cluley's work on frailty and ethnicity with this exhibition, open from tomorrow! 🤩
The Frailty&Ethnicity study exhibition opening was a great success. It was so nice to catch up with participants and celebrate their generous contributions to the study. The exhibition is on until 8th. I'll be there tomorrow and Saturday. If you are in Leicester pop in and say hi.
The Frailty&Ethnicity study exhibition is officially open to the public. I'll be here until 2.30pm. It's nice and cool in here at the Haymarket shopping centre so if you are in Leicester and want a break from the sunshine come and have a looksee.
Stopped off at the Loughborough University pool for a swim on my way home from the Frailty&Ethnicity exhibition. Had a 50m lane to myself and swam 1.5k. Was perfect.
Really insightful exhibition! What struck me most was how the themes of faith/religion are universal across cultures. Highly recommend to anyone interested in #Photovoice and/or the relationship between #Frailty and #Ethnicity Victoria Cluley Frailty&Ethnicity UoNSociology
The Frailty&Ethnicity exhibition visitor book is filling up fast today. It's been lovely to chat with everyone. A guy in his 70s told me he was out until 1am partying yesterday and another in his 80s told me he has a 19 yr old girlfriend.
I had some helpers today at the Frailty&Ethnicity exhibition. My daughter and her friend, showing a contrast in flexibility between young and old!
We were delighted to launch the 'Ageing & You' exhibition at Haymarket Centre last week! Our photographers shared their incredible stories with the Leicester City Council City & Lord Mayor. The exhibition is now open to the public until 10 August 2024. ⤵️📸 frailtyandethnicity.org
Tomorrow is the last day of the Frailty&Ethnicity exhibition. If you want to hear more about it, we were on the radio! Our piece starts 14:45 mins in. bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0j…
The Frailty&Ethnicity exhibition has now closed. We have loved chatting with everyone who popped in and our visitor book is full of insightful comments. If you missed the exhibition you can see all the photos here frailtyandethnicity.org/photo-exhibiti…
