Maeve is someone I love very much, but even if she were a stranger, this inquest would be harrowing. Dr David Strain says “The NHS does not have the facilities to deal with patients with very severe ME but this is not any kind of institutional obstruction.” #MaeveInquest

Maeve's GP's written evidence to the coroner "Currently no guidance about the management of severe ME. Several doctors involved in her care stated that they do not believe ME is a real illness." #MaeveInquest

Maeve Boothby O'Neill's inquest heard today from Maeve herself. Her frustrations about a lack of understanding of ME, the need for better research. "This is existential. I am fighting for my health and a chance to live". Maeve wrote this aged 26. She died months later.

I'll miss this funny, imaginative, generous person forever. I love you Maeve.
