Just 8 days to #ACC23 #WCCardio! As an Interventionalist, I’m excited for live cases from University Hosp of Cleveland, MUSC, and UIC: coronary, structural, and endovascular! Grateful to Herb Aronow, MD, MPH (he/him/his) Schuyler Jones for planning and to faculty & patients for important learning.

A bit late but we had an outstanding turnout for our second meeting of the Chicagoland Society of Echocardiography with ~80 attendees. Thanks to Jeremy Slivnick, Madeline Jankowski, Drs Oktay & Kansal for outstanding talks on strain. And thanks to our sponsors Visura & Bracco! #EchoFirst

Fantastic, thought-provoking session today on AF in Understudied Groups - thrilled to share our work on the prevalence of disease-associated cardiomyopathy gene variants in ethnic minorities with AF. #ACC23

In a cohort of 305 AA/HL patients with AF who underwent whole exome sequencing, 3.9% carried LP/P variants in genes with definitive/strong association to HCM or DCM. Patients with LP/P variants had lower rates of HTN (58% vs 85%) and higher rates of history of CHF (75% vs 37%).

Overjoyed at the awesome learning and networking experience I gained from attending and participating in the poster competition @MidwestACC Women in Cardiology conference. No offence to our male counterparts, but was also refreshing to see more dresses and frills in cardiology😄
