Despite the ongoing challenges, I commend the remarkable progress made by Ukraine in the area of internal security, in collaboration with the EU and Europol. With the Minister of Interior, Ihor Klymenko, I discussed firearms control, border protection & law enforcement reforms.

Earlier today, I hosted EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson in MFA of Ukraine 🇺🇦 for a focused meeting. I thanked Commissioner Johansson for all her efforts to support our people. We discussed joint steps to assist those of our citizens who intend to return to Ukraine.

Great to meet Olha Stefanishyna in her new capacity, now including justice in her portfolio. We discussed next steps in Ukraine’s enlargement path & she expressed gratitude for EU’s unwavering support in protecting people fleeing the war. I reassured her of our continued support.

With Iryna Vereschuk, now Deputy Head of the President’s Office, I had a very good discussion about children and how to ensure they have a safe place to come back to in Ukraine. The EU stands ready to help Ukraine in building a better future for their children.

“For outstanding personal contributions into strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” Immensely honored to be awarded the Order of Merit, second class, by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський. I received the medal yesterday.

The EU strongly condemns the transfer of Iranian-made ballistic missiles to Russia, a direct threat to European security amidst Russia's illegal war of aggression against #Ukraine. We will respond swiftly with new measures against Iran's ballistic missile and drone programmes.

49 Ukrainians have returned from Russian captivity! 🇺🇦 These are defenders of the AFU, the National Guard, National Police, State Border Guard Service, as well as civilians. Among them is also Leniye Umerova, who was taken hostage when she came to care for her sick father.

I also had the chance to meet with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin. I exchanged with him on actions Ukraine is taking in the fight against corruption. Progress in this area is key for Ukraine to advance in the accession process.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister took part in the Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv. Andrii Sybiha underlined the work for unification of domestic and foreign policy with the EU: 🗣 "In the field of foreign policy, Ukraine will ensure full coherence with the European Union."

Another barbaric Russian strike on a residential building in Kharkiv. At least 30 injured, including children. We need partners to lift all restrictions on the use of weapons so that Ukraine can destroy Russian airfields, bombers, and launch sites. Let Ukraine strike back.

Today, Russia attacked a multi-story residential building in #Kharkiv with a guided aerial bomb. At least 35 people were injured, including 3 children. Many people have lost their homes.

Ukraine stands with neighbours facing devastating floods. Upon @ZelenskyyUA’s instructions and under Denys Shmyhal’s coordination, we offered Czechia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia to send our State Emergency Service’s units to assist in mitigating the disaster.

In classic diplomacy, the newly appointed Foreign Minister chooses the first visit to highlight key foreign policy priorities. That is why my first visit outside of Kyiv today was to the Sumy region, closer to the frontline, to one of 🇺🇦brigades involved in the Kursk operation.
