Storm Surge and Hurricane Watches are now in effect for portions of southern Louisiana where there is an increasing likelihood of life-threatening storm surge and damaging hurricane-force winds. Residents in the watch area should follow advice given by local officials. Follow

The one that started it all. 16 years ago, this storm activated TX TERT for the first time as a state response program. For almost two months after landfall, 14 TERT teams would deploy to three locations providing dispatch relief for those in need.

A notification was sent to the TX TERT membership advising of a TERT need in North Carolina and seek interest from those that could have agency approval to deploy. If you are a member and did not get it, contact the TX TERT State Coordinator tx-tert.org/Contacts

TX TERT was invited to attend a coordinators collaboration workshop hosted by FL TERT in Ocala, FL this week. Members of FL, KY, OH, TX, and WA TERT participated to discuss lessons learned from 2024 TERT deployments and identify mitigation items to help improve TERT programs.
