Thankful to be a part of Lansing Community College Women’s Basketball! Appreciate Megan Hudson for trusting me to approach player development in my own way and not being stuck to “this is how we’ve always done it!” Real situations produce real improvements!!

We try to help players become more adaptable, not robots that just repeat! We want players who can adapt to any situation that may arise in the game! In order to do this, we must put players in as many different situations and let them play through challenges and mistakes!

Adaptable players: ✅ Can play in any system ✅ Adapt to anything situation ✅ Create more for teammates ✅ More coachable

Ball wrap shooting warmups! Rebounder yells “shoot” or can clap = players react, not pre-plan. Great for getting mind and body ready to go!

Coaches: The best training environments are fun, competitive, and full of accountability. It’s not about yelling—it’s about teaching in the moments that matter. Build structure, coach hard, and prepare players for the next level.

🏀 2-on-2 Stunt & Recover Drill 🏀 When the defense is in recovery, keep them at a disadvantage! Keys: • Ball movement • Quick decisions • Attack before reset This drill builds court vision and offensive IQ. Players learn to exploit defensive rotations for easy buckets.

Elevate your finishing game! 💥 This low-impact drill has become my go-to warmup routine - every finish is different, every finish is contested. Perfect for building that game-ready confidence around the basket.

Combining athleticism + skill work in one. Players accelerate, decelerate, and stay controlled — all in a basketball-specific context. Train how the game is played. #BasketballTraining #SkillDevelopment

A major point in our training is players ability to COMPETE on BOTH sides of the ball! Good drill here to hit both! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Too many players drive to pass. Change the mindset: drive to score first. Force the defense to help—then kick if needed. Be aggressive to the rim. Drive to score.

Being physical at the rim is a skill. Offense shouldn’t always brace for contact—sometimes you need to initiate it. In this drill, we put the defender at a disadvantage and force the offensive player to attack with force and control. Be the one doing the hitting.

Can you create a shot without the ball? Everyone wants to dribble—but elite players move with purpose. Use 1–2 screeners and passers, then relocate, read, and sprint into space. Never stop moving.
