Current work in progress mostly revolves around localised highway shields. Next update will contain better shields for NL, BE and LU.

#style Check out some new render of localized road shields! As our toolchain and workflow improve, the efficiency should be higher and we'll cover more countries in the coming months. Our rendering machines are full steam ahead doing their work to deliver it to you.

The Topo map has some glitches at some areas. It's because raster DEM data is converted to a shape file, which has a size limit of 2GB. We'll soon start to find a solution for this.

#render natural=peak in US will soon be rendered in feet.

Lately we've revised our storage architecture to incorporate S3 (compatible) object storage as a main tile repository (previously render server). The storage is replicated to Asia. Latency should be improved as a result. We are populating a few TB's of tiles to the storage.

#update Our two-day and weekly tile render schedules are a bit off due to increasing render backlog. We are trying to simplify updates to a simple 7-day frequency based on map changes.

We've updated the information page about current update schedules. There is also an interactive map showing areas with changes in the last 7 days, which are being rendered. tracestrack.com/information/

Played a bit with #Felt's raster support. Works pretty well with topo base map. Surprised to see a route annotation option. Well done well done.

#style Place names in some sparsely populated countries will be displayed from lower zoom level to increase visibility.

#opensource We launched another open source project "OpenStreetMap Routes Index" routes.tracestrack.com. This project list route relations based on country and matching tags. For example here is a list of NYC subways routes.tracestrack.com/us/subway/newy….

#style We are adding icons for shop=storage_rental and amenity=school/university. School icon is a lovely combo of pencil and apple from Mapbox's maki icon set. Other two come from Flaticon.
