Diane Deans was just not my City Council colleague. She's a friend. I have never met anyone whose moral compass was so straight, her work ethic so strong and showed us women belonged at the council table. Even in palliative care she continues to inspire with her bravery.

This is such very sad news. Diane Deans has dedicated her life to community service and - like so many others across Ottawa - I am thinking of her and her family, sending them strength and wishing them comfort.
