"There are two things that create a locker room and connect people.  Empathy and gratitude." Empathy builds trust. Gratitude builds respect. Together, they create a culture where people play for each other, not just the scoreboard.

“He loves the game. He loves the people around him. He’s very open, very gregarious. An incredibly positive human being. He’s up and down our bench all the time, just pumping tires, stay in the fight,” Paul Maurice Difference makers don’t meet the standards, they raise them.

"People don't really realize what it takes to win. The difference between good and great is underestimated by most humans." Most people only seek 'good enough'. Some people will do what it takes to be good. The greatest know if better is possible, good is never enough.

The jersey doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to the program — to the standard built before you got here. Your job is simple: Earn it. Honor it. Elevate it. Because when you leave, the jersey stays — and what you did in it is all that matters.

'Do 3 dollars work for a 2 dollar job' "This thing about grit is real. It is about competing. It is about pushing yourself. It is about striving to be at your best. Nobody else controls this but you. You have an opportunity to create your own value. Let's get a little gritty."

"It all starts with our standards. Eventually, our standards and our culture will coexist. But, they are two different things. If you don't have standards, there is no culture."

“Cool doesn’t win. You've got to be willing to do the uncomfortable things that go into winning. We are not going to win until we are humble enough to do the things that it takes to win games. Winners know intangibles win games: preparation, execution, toughness."

“Everything is dangerous all the time. There’s a mental intensity, mental toughness that both teams show that the game is not going to be over until it is,” Paul Maurice Winning starts with a mindset that is built long before it shows up on a scoreboard.

The scoreboard will matter in the moment but the standard you set will last forever. Champions don’t negotiate with their standards.   The standard isn’t about being great when it’s convenient—it’s about being great when it’s not.

Success isn’t about what you feel like doing once in a while — it’s about what you demand of yourself every day. It’s the discipline to do it right, over and over. That’s how you separate yourself. That’s how you win. 📸Coach Ray Ostrowski

Our fathers teach how to win, how to lose and how to make a difference in the lives of others. Here is my 85 year old father beating me in street pickleball😂

Good enough? That’s the mindset of people who almost win. If you want to be the best, you can’t be satisfied with good. You have to demand excellence — in everything you do. Every day. That’s what separates champions from everybody else.

Average is the enemy of greatness. Greatness doesn't settle; it demands more from you. Mediocrity may be comfortable, but it's never satisfying. Keep reaching higher because that's where greatness lives. To be more, you have to be willing to do more.

"If the focus is on the result...not good. It has to be in the process. It has to be on your habits. If we are not getting better at our fundamentals, if we are not focusing on the process, it's gonna catch us." You control your effort - not the outcomes.

True competitive ADVANTAGE lies not in your actions, but in the relentless STANDARDS you demand of yourself while taking them. The DIFFERENCE is rarely developed from what you do and is created from HOW you do it.
