AND THATS A WRAP FOR WEEK 1! In collaboration with AI, I created a cardinal directions mastery practice worksheet for students to use with their U.S./World desk maps! The group convos were on point and best part? Students were 100% engaged!!

What is Geography and what do Geographers do? Today’s extension activity was to add accessories to make a Geographer Edition Labubu! I love the little maps and globes! 😆 Mentor Tip: Not ALL Ss with get to the extension activity & that’s ok!

Have you ever heard a colleague say, “I like the older kids bc you can be sarcastic” Yeaaaaaa. No. IF that works, it’s only AFTER you’ve established TRUST with a student. Strong-willed Ss who do not trust adults will never respond positively to sarcasm. Trust comes first.

I am a BIG believer in this! Learning how to work with and lead multi-generational teams is a valuable skill that is transferable across industries! And as a former global communications teacher, knowing how to deliver messages to these different audiences is magic too!

After discussing the neuroscience behind retrieval practice with my 6th graders, one kid says, “Man! I really do learn something new everyday in this place!” 😆 Learning really DOES happen at school!
