It was a privilege to join the monks at Mount Melleray today for the launch of their Pilgrim Paths. Bishop Cullinan and I blessed the project and we met a large number of volunteers and supporters. May it be a source of blessing for pilgrims and walkers in the years ahead.

Today I will be celebrating the Eucharist in the chapel of the St Nicholas of Myra at Christ Church Cathedral in Waterford. He is associated with generosity and gift giving. We pray for all charities raising funds at this time of the year for those in need at home and abroad.

“Of what benefit would it be to me if Christ had been born a thousand times, and it would be daily sung in my ears in a most lovely manner, if I were never to hear that he was born for me and was to be my very own.” Martin Luther

Thanks to the pupils and staff of Clonenagh National School in Mountrath for their welcome this morning. I was asked lots of interesting questions when I visited each classroom.

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb… she told the disciples ‘I have seen the Lord.’ John 20:1,18. CHRIST IS RISEN! Happy Easter to one and all.

This is where Jesus is said to have been buried — and then resurrected. But is it the real tomb? How do we know? Well, in 2016 it was opened for the first time in centuries... (thread) 🧵
