The MTA is revisiting the idea of adding cantilevered bike and pedestrian paths to the Verrazzano Bridge. The last time this was proposed, they included a comically large and expensive ramp from the waterfront as the means to kill the project altogether.

They also seem to double down on choosing a more expensive way to open up the Verrazano, rather than converting an existing lane of traffic. cc: The Harbor Ring
