This is the reasonable worse-case-scenario held by the top 15% of ensemble members for Los Angeles inland valleys. The real forecast is only 2-3°F below this. It is safe to say winter is over. This is just absurd.

The Cheyenne Airport sensor reached 90 mph, which is the highest recorded at this station since reasonable wind data have been tracked (early-mid 1990s). Nearly our entire forecast area has gusted to at least 60 mph this morning with damage reports coming in #NEwx #WYwx

A significant dust storm is in progress along I-80 between Rawlins and Cheyenne, with the epicenter focused around Laramie. Visibility is dropping to less than 1/4 mile at times and travel conditions are shite. On top of that, there is a fast moving wildfire southwest of Laramie

High winds and blowing dust forced the closure of Highway 93 in central Colorado! The winds were strong enough to blow over a semi truck on the side of the road. A fire weather watch is in place until 8:00 pm on Friday. #COwx

The all time record 500mb heights for March in Tucson, AZ /San Diego, CA is about 5900 dam. (Probs in image blw are for reaching 5940 dam!!!!) This would be far and away above anything the region has ever seen in recorded history. It's almost as if something has changed...

The Morrill Fire (Nebraska) is estimated at 453 thousand acres this afternoon. Explosive growth in two days with another critical fire weather day tomorrow. Fuels across much of the western plains and Colorado are exceptionally receptive to fire right now and this is an example
