Over 20 months, like so many others, I’ve done chemo alone; waited alone: been told ‘it’s bad news’ alone. I’ve shielded, I’ve missed my job. Yet for the Government, a celebration, a party. A celebration at the expense of our misery.

In a monumentally crap twist to the day, my happy Christmas Jumper day has ended in me being admitted to Hospital again with an infection. Frustrated, angry and just generally pretty devastated. Why can’t I catch a break?

16 hours in A+E overnight then moved to a ward. I can’t and won’t go into details for obvious reasons, but this ward is WILD. Already enough content for a small novel.

Friday: ‘Should be out Monday’ Saturday: ‘You’ll be out Monday’ New doctor today: ‘Monday? That’s very optimistic!’ There is so much about hospital visits that are soul destroying.

*This is not a medically concerning tweet* If I make it through tonight it might genuinely be one of my finest achievements. I actually feel sick at the thought of how long it’s going to be 😫

No sooner do I tweet than I’m moved wards, into somewhere where I can finally experience…quiet. Oh I can’t wait to sleep 😁

I’ve been discharged! 🥳🥳 Just a 5 day stay this time, which was actually a really horrible 5 days. Final decision was that the fevers are cancer-based, but they should be able to be held back by steroids, so positives there!

Sometimes I just love watching a film that’s historically so preposterous it’s nice to be able to suspend any semblance of reality for a bit. ‘The War Below’ covers this base well today.

21st December, the darkest day. So the good news, is that things will only get lighter from here, maybe slowly, but it will come. Never stop believing 💪

Just received a message out of the blue saying thank you for something I did for someone 15 years ago. 15 years. They still speak about it now. Got me all a bit emotional, I didn’t know - remember to keep trying to make the world a better place, now more than ever 🙂

Maybe the most important oncologist appointment to date tomorrow. Have to do it by myself due to Covid, no-one with me. Rubbish, totally rubbish. #screwcancer

When I was 9, I lost my favourite toy Sharky on a flight to Australia. Today my niece (4) proudly presented me with a new one having been told the story last week. I just can’t ❤️.
