Tonight, we honored Debbie Jessen with the Legends of Lebanon Award. Over the past 29 years as Mayoral Assistant, she has dedicated herself to serving the citizens of Lebanon. Debbie has worked outside the bounds of her job description to support four mayors.

Happy Birthday to my Dad! This is a cool picture from 1969 when he was chosen one of Tennessee’s Outstanding Young Men. The other recipients in the picture are State Senator Curtis Person, Jr. and Sheriff Buford Pusser.

Thank you to Cumberland University Honors students for working to beautify the Square. They wanted to get involved with the community and chose this as their project. Also, thank you to Lee Clark and his team for assisting on their day off.

The 3rd Annual Let Lebanon Shine! Flowers were planted at Don Fox Park, Cairo Bend Park, South Hartmann Park and the Jimmy Floyd Family Center. Litter was also picked up on Sparta Pike. Thank you to each citizen and City of Lebanon employee who made this a great day.

It was a great afternoon at Highway 109 and Callis Road. East Nash Beer Works had their official groundbreaking. Last year, Sarah Haston and I visited their Nashville location and went over their plans for Lebanon. It is going to be a great addition to our growing brewery community.

Today, young athletes came to Lebanon High School for the Zion Logue Le96ndary Football Camp. Zion is a former Blue Devil who has gone on to great success at the University of Georgia. Thank you to Zion and his family for providing this opportunity to local kids for no cost.

It was a beautiful Memorial Day morning to honor Wilson Countians who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this great nation. We gathered to remember them and to remember that we have to freedom to gather because of the price they paid. Words cannot express our gratitude.
