It's ironic that Americans diss eating rice with hands when they eat rice with FORKS, which is the worst utensil to use as it's the most inefficient way to eat rice with gravy and sauces. Truly throwing stones in a glass house.

Interesting to use Anti-Fake News to curb mis/disinformation. I'm hoping this is a lazy oversight rather than overt choice. Fake "news" is primarily an attack against news outlets, so is this yet another attempt to restrict media before the council has a chance to work?

This is just the founding board who's job is to prepare for the AGM (Nov 7) to elect the actual board who will then seek to pursue the agenda of strengthening local media. They haven't even been given a chance yet. malaysiakini.com/news/749069

Aside from the clear intimidation, its pretty funny that this is basically invoking the Streisand Effect and the way this is exploding is quite clear that he caused this escalation. Anyway, add this to the continuing list of ways PH has no idea how the media is supposed to work.

The ones saying "being against her doesn't mean we're against safe schools" are the same as the clowns who say "I'm anti-feminist but pro women's rights". No, you are neither

They would and they have. Some are denying this. "Just because we support Palestine for Islam's sake doesn't mean we'll turn a blind eye to non-Muslims". Yet they continue to do exactly this. Not only that, they'll excuse atrocities committed by their favoured group

they want to silence Ain because the patriarchal structures & worldviews are put into question. Threatened. Do not let them silence this conversation as they've done countless of times over the years I've been on twitter. Keep voicing out, and keep caring & defending each other

Quite the non-commital nothing burger of an answer; no chastisement but just repeating the same boilerplate stance. It's ok to say the minister misspoke or overreacted but this suggests the gov believes it was wrong but are unwilling to warn a minister who refuses to apologise.

Boycotting an antagonistic minister works for the latter since they don't want media to ask questions. The right move is to pressure him at his events to press him on his actions until he apologises or relents. Media should never hide or back down from an errant politician.
