We remember the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the brave men and women who were called to serve in the military in the days, weeks, months and years that followed. From 2007 - 2011, MMAF commemorated 9/11 by recognizing grant recipients at the State Capitol. #20YearsofThanks

On September 15, 2023, MMAF held it's annual Dinner with General Paul Nakasone and Major Katie Lunning providing remarks during the evening. Minnesota service members made major impacts on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and these two speakers embodied those impacts.

On September 20, 2010, Tom Brokaw keynoted the MMAF Dinner with a crowd of nearly 500 guests in attendance. Joining Mr. Brokaw were Annette Kuyper, whose son Jared served in Iraq from 2005-2007 and SSG John Kriesel, whose remarks had guests crying at times and laughing at others.
