Star Trek: Deep Space Nine started 32 years ago today with "Emissary". This is still my favorite Trek series.

In many respects, DS9 was the most mature of all the Star Trek series. It allowed its Starfleet personnel to be more flawed and real than before, but never devolved into petty soap opera slop nor vain celebration of human ugliness. It also took the Bajorans and their religion
