40 years ago David Dundas took 4 notes (A,G,C & A) and used them to create one of the greatest ever TV channel signature tunes and idents. To mark 40 years of Channel 4, I try to play a little bit of “Fourscore.” Happy Birthday #Channel4! Channel 4

Whenever people ask me, as Raj Giri did today, “what was your favorite era of wrestling?” I always reference 1989. That’s the year I was introduced to Terry Funk. I can’t imagine there’s a Hall of Fame where he doesn’t belong, or a “Mount Rushmore” for that matter. RIP to a 🐐

One of the Greatest TV Performances of All Time. Michael Gambon: The Singing Detective. Many more great turns of course, but this is the one for me. Sardonic, pitiable, mean, self-loathing, sentimental, caustic, vulnerable, wise, kind, spiteful…all of those & more at once. RIP.

#OnThisDay in 1989: WCW Clash of the Champions IX: Ric Flair defeated Terry Funk to retain the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title in a "I Quit" match. The bout was rated five stars (*****) by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, but only finished fourth in the Match of the Year category.

Springburn was badly damaged by mass demolition and motorway construction during the 1970s and 1980s. It has been starved of capital investment over the last 15 years. Restoring Springburn's magnificent Winter Gardens is a critical project for Glasgow. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
