The buttonbush flower is a marvel: tubular florets radiate from a perfect sphere, with long stamens jutting out like viral spikes. It maximizes pollinator access—multiple pollinators can feed at once without seeing each other. No wonder the skipper here loves it.

Roux's Forest Lizard. I found this along the edge of a Western Ghat forest. It was very well camouflaged, as if a piece of rock had started to move. Do pinch the image to zoom in and view its beautiful skin patterns.

Come with me into the field of sunflowers. Their faces are burnished disks, their dry spines creak like ship masts, their green leaves, so heavy and many, fill all day with the sticky sugars of the sun. —Mary Oliver

The Artist’s Conk suddenly came knocking out of the woods! Just look at how pretty it is. The upper side looks like a malformed dosa on a pan, while the underside hides its true artistry: pore patterns that bruise dark brown permanently, making it an excellent medium for art.
