Last week, Year 8 spent 2 days in Stratford Upon Avon, enriching their understanding of Shakespeare. The first day started at Anne Hathaway’s cottage, where pupils learnt about her life and how people lived during the period. #StNicks #StNicksExploration #StNickLearning

The next stop was to Shakespeare’s School Room, Guildhall and Chapel where pupils learnt about religion during the Elizabethan and Jacobean period, as well as experiencing what lessons were like at that time. Even the teachers got involved! #StNicks #StNicksDiscovery

Our final stop for Day 1 was to see an incredible performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ at the #RSC. The pupils were captivated by the staging & performances, and were complimented on their excellent behaviour by members of the public. #StNicks #StNicksCulture

Day 2 started with a ‘Spotlight on Romeo and Juliet’ workshop with the #BirthplaceTrust where pupils acted out key scenes from the play and deepened their knowledge of the text. #StNicks #StNicksLearning #StNicksCreativity

The final leg of our adventure was spent at Shakespeare’s Birthplace on Henley Street. Pupils were able to tour his childhood home and grounds, and learn more about his family and early married life. #StNicks #StNicksLearning #StNicksEnglish
