SSP, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland and Traverse Theatre are teaming up to celebrate some big birthdays this year. Full details and invites to members will follow!

The Celebration is on Monday, 4pm! Members, RSVP to Playwrights' Studio, Scotland's email asap. We have readings of 2 iconic plays from the SSP & PSS founding years: The Sash (My Father Wore), Hector MacMillan (1974) & Shimmer, Linda McLean (2004), dir. by Traverse Theatre's Gareth Nicholls.

We are dismayed by the announcement of the Open Fund’s closure as yet another blow to our sector. We are due to meet Creative Scotland and ScotGov reps on Thursday with fellow creative industry unions and will be demanding answers.

The creative unions rally at Holyrood will proceed tomorrow, 12:30. While we are happy to hear @ScotGov say they will work to reinstate Creative Scotland Open Fund for Individuals, this is the third time the money has been promised this sitting of parliament. They must now deliver.
