Executive Director, Ryan Hollingsworth, testified this morning in front of the Ways and Means Education Committee on HB310.

With 4 days remaining in the 2024 Legislative Session Ryan Hollingsworth spoke today on SB98 pertaining to school safety. In addition, SSA districts 2 & 3 were in attendance in Montgomery today.

Congratulations to russellcsd, led by superintendent Dr. Brenda Coley, on being recognized as the 2023-2024 American College Application Campaign School of Excellence at today’s State Board of Education meeting.

Dr. Heath Grimes passed the gavel this morning to Dr. Wayne Vickers. Congratulations to Dr. Vickers on his upcoming presidency of SSA. In addition, SSA would like to thank Dr. Grimes for his leadership as president.

Today SSA met with Alabama’s congressional delegation and discussed a variety of educational topics. SSA would like to thank each Representative and Senator who took the time to meet with us today.

Local superintendents across Alabama make a world of difference in the education of our students. While meeting with SSA, School Superintendents of Alabama, we discussed ways to help more kids unlock their full potential and achieve their American Dream.

We appreciate Senator Katie Boyd Britt and her dedication to public education in Alabama.

Today is day 1 of the SSA Board Retreat. We would like to welcome the new board members and thank the sitting board members for their service to SSA.

Day 2 of the SSA Board Retreat was very successful. We appreciate our board members and thank them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to be in Montgomery.
