I worked for the company for 4 years and the disregard for its workers would be comical if it wasn’t so depressing

With Rishi’s announcement for 5% VAT in hospitality and #eatouttohelpout comes a wave of disappointment. Wetherspoons stands to make quite a profit from this - the least that we ask is that profit is passed down to the staff in the form of a living wage and full sick pay.

This is just one of the many gaping holes in the Chancellor's announcement. With the incentives for people to go to Spoons and boost profits, staff will be working harder and have not been given a real living wage or SSP. SpoonStrike

Now people are becoming more comfortable going out, we're getting busier. Our hours dont reflect this at all, we dont have enough staff working in the pub for the ammount of customers we have.

So not only are we stressed, we are too busy to keep an eye on the customers, complete cleaning tasks, and are unable to sufficiently distance from eachother. Things are not going back to normal for us, its getting worse. #Wetherspoons
