If you happen to visit a Wetherspoons today, remind the workers to join the union, and advise them to fill out the Workers Risk Assessment so we can keep pubs safe mcstrike.uk/wra

We’re hearing some horror stories about last night, and it seems clear that social distancing is not happening in pubs. 😷 Make sure to let us know how it went here mcstrike.uk/wra and be a part of the change #pubsopen

It’s clear on our return to work that this is the case - we are being put at risk. We are then being punished for contracting Covid with statutory sick pay at £95 a week. #pubsopen theguardian.com/world/2020/jul…

The fact that the staff at Weatherspoons are having to ask people to sign a petition for there basic health and safety, & money they are owed is fucking abysmal. The owner is a BILLIONAIRE! To provide everything on this list would be like me or you forking out a few hundred quid!

Going back was hard, but by coming together we can find a way through this. The supportive spaces in our unionised workplaces are invaluable, and necessary, for the protection of our mental and physical health. vice.com/en_uk/article/…

I interviewed a bartender and trade unionist about what it was like working in a pub last Saturday, how you can be a better customer, and whether you should boycott Spoons vice.com/en_uk/article/…

With Rishi’s announcement for 5% VAT in hospitality and #eatouttohelpout comes a wave of disappointment. Wetherspoons stands to make quite a profit from this - the least that we ask is that profit is passed down to the staff in the form of a living wage and full sick pay.

Samuel Sweek 🇵🇸🇱🇧 (@samuelsweek) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is just one of the many gaping holes in the Chancellor's announcement. With the incentives for people to go to Spoons and boost profits, staff will be working harder and have not been given a real living wage or SSP. SpoonStrike

Now people are becoming more comfortable going out, we're getting busier. Our hours dont reflect this at all, we dont have enough staff working in the pub for the ammount of customers we have.

Molotov (@teargasmolotov) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So not only are we stressed, we are too busy to keep an eye on the customers, complete cleaning tasks, and are unable to sufficiently distance from eachother. Things are not going back to normal for us, its getting worse. #Wetherspoons

"300+ staff losing their jobs within Tate Retail. Apparently we’re not really part of Tate. What a kick in the teeth for all us who work hard to bring in the money to support Tate’s ongoing artistic programme." Thats why we protesting this morning #CultureInCrisis #SaveTateJobs

Solidarity with Rachael and workers at The Walrus (City Pub Group) in Brighton. No one should be forced to work when sick. No one should lose their job for putting the health of others first. Please donate to this fund for Walrus workers: gofund.me/0e46ffdc
