A horned longhorn beetle (Tybalmia caeca) from Costa Rica getting ready to clash head-on. Those horns are used in fighting other males for establishing territories and mating with females.

A particular area of interest for me has always been the ways in which spiders (& their kin) partition resources and avoid competition via niche. Prey selection is key with speciation & niche specialisation enhancing energy flow in terrestrial ecosystems. #LoveSpiders #Ecosystem
